At BounceBack Physiotherapy, your physiotherapist will work with you on improving your mobility, strength, endurance, range of motion and joint mobilisation. The therapeutic exercises will greatly reduce stiffness and relieve pain. You may also be given exercises to carry out at home to improve strength and flexibility.
The goal of physiotherapy is to preserve, correct, and/or restore movement function. Physiotherapy prepares body tissues for further movement activities. It is used for reducing pain and inflammation and regulating muscle tone.
- Are you having difficulty moving or sleeping?
- Are you suffering pain or stiffness doing basic tasks like washing your hair, getting in or out of your car, or climbing stairs?
Our physio team is here to help get you moving well again, and keep you moving – whether that’s at work, at play or at home.
Physiotherapy can relieve pain and stiffness and treat a wide variety of conditions including:
- Neck and Back pain
- Shoulder pain or weakness
- Knee pain and stiffness

- Stiff neck
- Heel pain

After an initial examination to determine your injury or illness, your physiotherapist will work with you to create a personalised treatment plan that will meet your health goals and prevent your problem recurring.
Your physiotherapy treatment will be tailored specifically to your condition and may include gentle joint mobilisation, soft tissue massage, stretching, acupuncture, muscle strengthening exercises, functional movement re-training, taping/strapping techniques, Pilates, joint manipulation, and self-management education, and a home exercise program.

Exercise therapy, strength and conditioning
The team at Bounceback Physio are all trained in muscle balance assessment to get a client’s strength and conditioning underway. This approach ensures the correct movement patterns and control are developed for clients to progress their strength and conditioning training to the next level.
At Bounceback we see numerous people suffering from lower back pain (LBP). A common sign after evaluating a person suffering from LBP is that they have forgotten how to bend properly in a safe manner. We all remember the saying ‘don’t use your back like a crane’ but often people suffering from LBP are not strong enough to bend using their knees and hips and therefore bend from the back, making the back pain worse. We believe for the successful rehabilitation and prevention of LBP a person must have adequate core control to stabilise the back and also lower leg strength in order to bend from the hips and the knees.
These important strength areas are well catered for at Bounceback through the utilisation of the skills and numerous strengthening equipment we have available to our physiotherapists.
Injury prevention management
Physiotherapists treat people of all fitness levels, from professional athletes to people who haven’t been to the gym in years. Depending on your injury, your physiotherapist will take the time to show you how to properly move your body in order to avoid stress on your joints and maximize the benefits of a workout, thereby preventing future sprain, strain or break. By teaching you the proper exercise techniques, you’ll achieve strength and flexibility in your muscles and joints, to help prevent future injuries from occurring.
Anyone who has trouble doing everyday tasks due to illness or injury, or whose functional independence has decreased can benefit from Physiotherapy. If you think you might need Physiotherapy services, contact us to speak with one of our staff members to learn more and book an appointment.
Regular physiotherapy benefits people of all ages who suffer from any variety of ailments or injuries. From car accidents to sports injuries, lower back pain, post-surgery stiffness and musculoskeletal conditions, physiotherapy empowers you to strengthen your body to your pre-injury fitness level.
Spinal manipulative therapy
Spinal manipulation is a treatment involving a series of progressive movement techniques that our physiotherapists use to help relieve stiffness and reduce pain throughout the spine. As well as restoring movement and reducing pain, manipulation and mobilisation techniques are successfully used to reduce the effects of whiplash and chronic headaches.
With the increase in desk related work and sedentary lifestyles, we are treating an increasing number of patients with stiff and painful neck and backs. Interestingly, we are finding that people with a stiff mid-back (Thoracic spine) can develop breathing problems and can ultimately lead to a reduction in energy levels. We find that mobilising and manipulating the thoracic spine helps improve the movement of the ribs and enhance breathing performance.
Joint Mobilisation Techniques
Joint mobilisation techniques are utilised for both assessment and treatment. These can range from gentle pressure (to assist with pain relief) to a greater pressure (to assist with joint stiffness) to get the desired results.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into specific points on the body. It can be an effective treatment for pain, inflammation, swelling and muscle spasm. Bounceback Physiotherapy has several Physiotherapists that have completed postgraduate studies in Acupuncture and are registered acupuncturists. Our therapists only use single-use, sterile, disposable needles.
Dry needling
Dry needling, also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling, is an unproven technique in alternative medicine similar to acupuncture. It involves the use of either solid filiform needles or hollow-core hypodermic needles for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome
