- ACC still covers physiotherapy treatment for injuries from accidents.
However, in 2009, ACC reduced the level of funding, and physiotherapists now need to charge a co-payment to help meet the costs of your treatment. You can still go directly to a physiotherapist for treatment, or you may be referred by your GP, a specialist or your employer.
Payment is required on the day of treatment, unless otherwise arranged.
- First Visit: $30
- Follow-Up Visits: $25
There may also be a small charge for materials (e.g. strapping, acupuncture needles).
- First Visit: $85
- Follow-Up Visits: $70 per visit
Plus any charges for materials (as above). For conditions not covered by ACC but funded by public health, a referral from a hospital or doctor is essential.
If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Please Note: Appointments not cancelled at least four hours before the scheduled time will incur a $25 charge.
